Two Ripon Solemates will be getting together in spring
Tracey Lidster's relocation plans will see a pair of Solemates united in Ripon by next spring.
Her two shops - Solemates Footwear and Solemates Men's have been trading on either side of Queen Street for the past two years.
But Ms Lidster told the Stray Ferret:
I've decided to consolidate and bring the two together in the original women's footwear and fashionwear shop that I opened six years ago.
The current economic climate for small independent retailers like me is not easy and it makes sense to reduce the overheads that I have with running two separate stores.
Men's and women's fashion and footwear will be sold in the shop that Ms Lidster originally opened in 2018
Ms Lidster added:
I was bred in Ripon and I think that this lovely city has so much going for it, with lots of good things happening, in spite of the financial squeeze on people's budgets.
We have a genuine, supportive community and many of my customers, who are also friends, said they thought I was making the right move when I asked them what they thought about my relocation plans.
Among the footwear brands that Ms Lidster stocks at Solemates Men's are Reiker, Skechers, Josef Seibel, Vans, Bugatti and Birkenstock and in her relocation sale she has some bargains that are worth crossing the street for.
