A blast from the past

Hera Cocktail Lounge is hosting a nostalgic Back to the 90s Bottomless Brunch this Saturday afternoon.

Dress to impress in your best 90s gear – think double denim, neon colours and bucket hats – then sing and dance your heart out to all your favourite 90s anthems.

Enjoy two hours of bottomless drinks and indulge in a delicious brunch dish while you reminisce about the good old days, followed by a good old-fashioned party on the dancefloor, but be quick; some tickets have already sold out.

2pm-6pm on March 8, from £5 for the party only, Hera Cocktail Lounge, 54 Parliament Street, Harrogate, HG1 2RL.

Have a spring reset

Chill out and unwind this Sunday afternoon with the soothing sounds of gongs at this event in Killinghall, where you can find your inner zen.

It is said that gong sound therapy can help to calm the nervous system, bring the body back into balance and can help soothe the fight-or-flight response, promote deep relaxation and create a feeling of peace.

So, simply lie down on a mat, wrap yourself in a blanket, and close your eyes while you listen to the healing sound waves that are designed to offer relaxation and emotional release.

4pm-5.15pm on March 9, £20, Killinghall Methodist Church, Ripon Road, Killinghall, HG3 2DF.

Embrace the arts

Harrogate Competitive Festival is taking place across three weekends this March.

Held at Harrogate High School, there will be competitive classes in music, speech and drama.

Running since 1936, the Festival gives young people the opportunity to perform in front of friends and family to showcase their talents, perform in front of a live audience, and receive valuable feedback from professional adjudicators, as well as highlighting the importance of the arts for everyone.

Various times on March 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, £3 per slot to watch performers, Harrogate High School, Ainsty Road, Harrogate, HG1 4AP.
