A plan to demolish a Pateley Bridge garage to build 14 apartments has been withdrawn.
Chartwell Barns Ltd lodged the plan to North Yorkshire Council in May last year for the former Nidderdale Motors garage on Bridgehouse Gate.
The proposal included demolition of the garage building to make way for 14 new flats. But, a small stone building would be retained as a kiosk.
Documents say the buildings would have a grass roof to promote sustainability, reduce CO2 emissions and help it blend into its surroundings.
Electric vehicle charging points would also be provided at the site.
In a planning statement, the developer said the move would help bring a brownfield site back into use.
It said:
The proposal represents the full and efficient re-use of brownfield land anchored by a deliberate and considered residential development, but also a public electric vehicle charging facility and ancillary kiosk.
However, the developer has now withdrawn the proposal. No reason has been given.

The move comes after North Yorkshire Council refused a similar proposal in May 2023.
At the time, the developer planned to build 15 apartments on the site. It included three one-bedroom, eight two-bedroom and four three-bedroom flats.
However, the council rejected the plan on the grounds that the scheme would result in the loss of employment space and that the developer had failed to prove that the site had been marketed for employment use.
It added that the development would be “unduly dominant and incongruous” within its surroundings and failed to provide an “acceptable level of privacy” to future occupants.
