A trial date has been set for a woman accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Rowena Ledgeway, 32, from Whixley, is charged with causing serious injury to a named man on the A59 near Kirk Hammerton.

She appeared at York Crown Court today when she pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Ms Ledgeway is said to have been driving a VW Golf when a collision occurred with a motorbike in the early hours of November 24, 2022. Serious injury was caused to the motorcyclist.

Judge Sean Morris adjourned the case for a trial on January 26 next year. It is expected to last four days.

Ms Ledgeway, of Princess Corner, was released on unconditional bail until then.
