Here are the answers to this week's Sunday Picture Quiz. How well did you do?

1. The Maori pou whenua in the Valley Gardens, Harrogate.

This pou whenua, or Maori land post, stands in the New Zealand garden in the Valley Gardens. 

A pou tells a story and acknowledges the connection between the people and the land.

The pou is carved with figures.

The garden was opened on June 21, 1954 to celebrate the twinning of Harrogate with Wellington in New Zealand, and includes plants from that country.

The garden was refurbished in 2010 and this beautiful pou was brought from New Zealand and blessed in a Maori service.

2. The town pump, Boroughbridge.

This pump was given the people of the town by a Mrs Lawson of Aldborough Manor in 1875.

A plaque on the well says it is 256 feet deep.

3. The Tour de France Cairn in Masham.

This marker commemorates the arrival in Masham on the Tour de France Grand Départ on July 5, 2014.

4. The Victoria Clock Tower, Ripon.

The Victoria Clock Tower was commissioned to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897 and in the following June it was officially unveiled to a huge crowd at a civic ceremony. 

The Grade II listed building passed into council ownership in 1974.
