Knaresborough Choral Society joins forces with Harrogate Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Handel’s masterpiece: the Messiah – but with a difference!
The concert presents all the music from the first half of the Messiah telling the story of the birth of Christ but this performance is mixed with carols old, new & different. All the words & music are sympathetic to the story of Christmas and tell the story in different ways.
Colombian born & educated conductor Daniel Rodriguez-Tijaro will conduct this celebration of Christmas Music in what will be Daniel’s second Christmas concert together with Knaresborough Choral Society. The iconic, atmospheric and beautiful Holy Trinity church, Knaresborough, will be the setting for this evening filled with so much beautiful, festive music at 7.30pm on Saturday 30th November.
Knaresborough Choral Society is delighted to perform with Harrogate Philharmonic Orchestra. It is a local chamber orchestra which encourages young musicians from the area both as regular players and as concert soloists. Alastair Stone, Assistant Organist at Ripon Cathedral, is welcomed as accompanist for Knaresborough Choral Society for the first time having joined the choir this Autumn.
