A Harrogate company has cheered up King Charles following the news of his cancer diagnosis earlier this month.

Pigment Productions Ltd are a greetings card design and publishing company based in a converted stable block on Back Unity Grove who specialise in humorous cards and never expected one of their products to end up in the hands of the King.

A woman from Leicestershire sent the monarch a get well soon card in the hopes of raising his spirits. Lisa Moffat bought the £9.99 giant Moonpig card and posted it to Buckingham Palace.

A video of Royal Mail sacks full of get well soon cards getting delivered then opened and added to the King's daily red box was posted on the royal family's social media. The footage released on Friday showed the King's delight at one card in particular.

The card, designed by Lisa Stalker of Pigment Productions boasted an illustration of a dog in a cone and read: 'At least you don't have to wear a cone'.

The design was inspired by the Disney film 'Up' and includes a golden retriever character Dug.

The card designed by Pigment was part of a collection licensed to and sold by Moonpig.

Designer, Lisa said:

“ I was delighted my card cheered up the king, we all wish him a speedy recovery”

Stephen Baker, co-founder of Pigment said:

"It is brilliant, it has caused a real buzz, especially for Lisa. It has been lovely for us to be able to share emotions. We are British so we sometimes express emotions differently and greetings cards are still important. It shows the power of sending someone a card."

Martin Powderly, creative director said:

"Our mission, when designing cards is to spread a little much-needed joy and fun, be it for recognised occasions or just because. Seeing King Charles holding one of our cards was certainly memorable and I'm really proud of all the amazing work our team does”
