A Harrogate clinic is set to expand its services amid growing demand for earlier answers to health conditions.
Cocoon, which opened on Victoria Avenue in 2024, was founded by Sam Naughton as a pregnancy and women’s wellness clinic inspired by her own experience of baby loss.
Now, the private clinic is set to expand into preventative health with new earlier screening, advanced diagnostics, diagnostic ultrasound and personalised long-term clinical support.
Ms Naughton said the move to expand into preventative healthcare was shaped by her experience of losing a loved one to cancer in their 40s.
She said the clinic was now seeing more patients come forward seeking earlier answers to a wide range of concerns such as unexplained exhaustion, hormone disruption and long-term health anxiety.
Ms Naughton said:
What began in 2024 as a pregnancy and women’s wellness clinic has naturally evolved into something much bigger as we’ve listened to what people are telling us they need.
We are seeing more and more people who do not want to wait until something becomes a crisis before they are taken seriously, whether that is exhaustion, hormonal changes, sleep disruption, cognitive symptoms or simply a sense that something is not right.
The expansion also includes new appointments to the senior leadership team at Cocoon.

Dr Adam Culverwell, medical director at Cocoon.
Consultant radiologist Dr Adam Culverwell has joined as medical director and Kate Ward has been appointed clinic director.
Dr Culverwell will lead the clinic's cancer screening and diagnostic imaging pathways and Ms Ward will oversee patient experience, clinical pathways and the development of Cocoon’s wider prevention-led care model.
Dr Culverwell said:
Earlier insight can make a meaningful difference, whether that is providing reassurance, identifying an issue that needs further investigation, or helping someone better understand their long-term health risks.
What matters is making sure people have access to the right expertise, the right investigations, and the right follow-up at the right time. By bringing imaging, blood analysis and specialist clinical review together, we can help people gain clarity sooner and make more informed decisions about their health.
