Harrogate Town's recent good run came to a crashing halt at Mansfield tonight when they were hammered 9-2.
It was Town's heaviest English Football League defeat ever and came after a run of four wins and a draw in five weeks.
That good form had catapulted the Sulphurites into the promotion play-off places and seen manager Simon Weaver rewarded with the Manager of the Month award for January.
High flying Mansfield raced into a 5-0 lead at half-time and grabbed another one before Town replied with two quick goals.
But the Stags added three more to complete a miserable night in Mansfield.
It is the second humiliating result of the season for Harrogate, who were thrashed 8-0 at home by Blackburn Rovers in the second round of the Carabao Cup in August.
