Harrogate’s Archie Gray has signed a new long-term contract with Leeds United.

Gray has been a regular name on the team sheet for United this season, making 28 appearances in all competitions.

The 17-year-old made his debut in the opening English Football League Championship fixture against Cardiff City at Elland Road in August.

His start in the away fixture against Cardiff last weekend equalled the club’s record for the most starts by a player before the age of 18.

The club has not disclosed the length of Gray’s new contract. However, it is reported to be until 2028.

Gray told the club’s website:

“It feels amazing, it’s another dream come true.

“Supporting Leeds and following the club my whole life, it is just a dream come true, like I said.

“It means a lot to me and my family, the club trust me and trust my family and hopefully I can repay it.

“My family have supported me the whole way, giving me advice and helping me and now by training hard, I want to help them out and help my little brothers out.”
