A Bishop Monkton woman has denied causing death by careless driving following a fatal accident near Thirsk.
Annabelle Burgess, 50, appeared at York Crown Court today (February 2) when she pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Elizabeth Cross by driving without due care and attention.
Ms Burgess, of Boroughbridge Road in the village near Ripon, was driving a Skoda vehicle when the incident occurred at the junction of Church Lane in Hutton Sessay and the A19 at Birdforth on June 11, 2024.
Judge Sean Morris adjourned the case for a trial on January 18, 2027. It is expected to last four days.
Ms Burgess was released on bail until then.
