This week has been glorious weather to be out and about – it feels as though it’s the last of the summer sun and luckily it looks like it will be with us until Saturday evening.
With this in mind, remember to check out our 5 things to do in and around Harrogate this weekend September 20-22. There’s a real mixture of events going on, from the start of Harrogate Comedy Festival to the two-day annual 1920s weekend on Grassington’s cobbled streets. The latter will feature free live performances of music from the era, while the village will be packed with vintage vehicles, market stalls and people dressed in period clothing.
There’s also details of Ripon Poetry Festival, a charity walk, and information on the last local agricultural show of the season.
In other lifestyle news, a new mural in Harrogate town centre has been unveiled, we published a gallery of images from Harrogate’s Autumn Flower Show showcasing the beautiful blooms and giant vegetables that were on display, and Love to be Festival was such a success last weekend that it’s announced it’s set to return next year.
Finally in food and drink news, Harrogate Beer Week is on until September 22, Yemi celebrates apples in seasonal cooking, and next week we will be publishing our thoughts of Chartwells, Aldwark Manor’s new fine dining restaurant that cost £3 million.
Don't forget that there’s also plenty of discounts and savings to be had. Subscribers to the Stray Ferret can take advantage of a range of fantastic exclusive offers, discounts and giveaways from local businesses, which we regularly update.
