A house music festival that appeared to take Harrogate by storm will return next year.
The town’s first Love to Be Festival, which took place on the Oatlands Drive section of the Stray last Saturday (September 14), will make a comeback on September 6, 2025.
More than 3,000 people took to the Stray to enjoy the biggest dance songs of the 1980s and 90s, and performances from the likes of Roger Sanchez, Darius Syrossian, Happy Mondays’ Bez and Adelphi Music Factory.
There was an indoor stage dedicated to Ibiza’s iconic Café Mambo, an open-air main stage and a smaller VIP stage, as well as stilt-walkers, human glitterballs and fairground rides.
The Stray Ferret published a photo gallery of Love to Be on Sunday, as one festivalgoer told us it “should have happened here 20 years ago”.
But house music lovers will be pleased to hear organisers are “already planning a massive day” for its return.
The 2025 event will have a bigger capacity, more artists and more stages, Love to Be said.
A spokesperson for Love to Be, which is a record label and events company, told the Stray Ferret:
It was so good to see thousands of happy faces join us for our first festival.
From start to finish the vibe was amazing with everyone having so much fun and enjoying the music, rides and entertainment. It was a pleasure to host our first large-scale festival in Harrogate – and the feedback has been so positive from both the local community and people who travelled to town.
We can’t wait to announce our plans for 2025, bringing in some more of the best global dance music talent to Harrogate and some more exciting plans.
Love to Be Festival was held in celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary.
