The countdown is now on for the Stray Ferret Business Awards 2025, sponsored by Prosperis, and we're taking the opportunity to celebrate the fantastic finalists, shortlisted across each of the 10 categories.

Tickets are now available to buy for the glittering black tie event, which will take place at The Pavilions in Harrogate on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Let's meet and find out more about the finalists for Employee Appreciation, sponsored by Vida Healthcare.

Stef Winter, Artizan

Stef is the beloved cafe manager at Artizan, leading the training and support provided for the 40+ disabled trainees attending sessions every week.

Described as 'the absolute backbone' of the services delivered, she's praised for giving 'her time and energy without limits if it benefits others' in the submission.

As one of the first people to arrive and last to leave, she's deeply passionate about what she does, helping to set a culture of lifting others up and championing their successes.

Bethany Allen, Harrogate BID

Ever since she joined the BID more than three and a half years ago, Bethany has always gone above and beyond to support not only the local business community, but the town as a whole.

Born and bred in Harrogate, Bethany's local knowledge is second to none and she is incredibly passionate about working to consistently improve the town she calls home.

Not only is she involved in bringing to life all of the organisation’s events, campaigns and services but she was instrumental in the BID achieving a successful ballot for its second term in Harrogate last year.

Danny Scott, Howard Conrad

As the longest-serving staff member, the team at Howard Conrad describe him as 'calm, steady and level-headed'.

His dedication to supporting those he manages is demonstrated through creating easy-to-follow guides for future reference and offering comprehensive training to equip team members with the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

He also ensures that workflow is as smooth as possible, keeping everyone on track with support and a positive attitude.

Georgia Armitage, Grantham Arms

According the entry, Georgia's 'remarkable journey and exceptional leadership qualities make her an outstanding candidate' for the award.

Joining the Grantham Arms in April 2019 at just 20 years old, she has risen through the ranks to become General Manager at just 26 years old - proving to be a real asset to the team.

She's praised for helping the pub achieve one of the most successful financial Decembers on record, due to her diligence, organisation and warm hospitality.

Nicola Isaac, Visiting Angels

Nicola exemplifies the values and culture that Visiting Angels North Yorkshire West stands for - as one of the company's dedicated caregivers, she has become an invaluable asset to the team.

One of her key achievements has been spearheading an initiative to deliver workshops at local schools and churches, raising awareness about elderly care and promoting intergenerational understanding.

Nicola’s compassionate approach has led to a 100 percent client satisfaction rate among those she supports, with families often highlighting her as the reason they feel confident entrusting Visiting Angels with their care.
