A well-known play centre in Harrogate is set to rebrand under new ownership.
Kidzplay Harrogate, formerly known as Little Bees, this week announced the Beech Avenue site would be changing hands.
The owner, who shared the news on social media but did not disclose the reason for the change of ownership, ran the local site for 18 years and said it has been “part of my family’s story, my identity and my everyday life for almost two decades”.
Kidzplay will revert back to its roots under Nick Shah, the owner of Crazy Tykes in Thorp Arch who is taking over the local site and renaming it The Little Bees.
Mr Shah said there is no affiliation to the former Little Bees operation, but he chose to open in Harrogate as it is a “great town with loyal customers”.
He added:
Having something for local people is another reason and the site has a lot of potential.
Mr Shah said Little Bees will still offer soft play, sensory and roleplay areas, but the venue will be “made more comfortable” and the food menu will be reviewed.
He also plans to offer a new children’s party service and classes throughout the week, including sessions for SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) children, and is looking to recruit between 10 and 12 local people.
Mr Shah added:
We are probably more excited than our customers to create this in the town. It will be the place to go.
Mr Shah said he hopes Little Bees will be up and running by next week and, once open, it will operate daily from 9am until 6pm.
The Stray Ferret contacted Kidzplay Harrogate for comment but we did not receive a response.
