A cyclist remains in serious condition following a collision in Harrogate on Saturday (May 31).
North Yorkshire Police today said the incident, which happened on Beech Grove, occurred at around 7.25am.
A male, who was riding a black pedal cycle at the time, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.
Police officers closed the road for more than four hours at the time.
The force is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or may have information that would assist the investigation, to come forward.
Today’s statement added:
We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the rider prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
In particular, we believe the driver and passengers of a black Toyota Auris taxi stopped at the scene to assist but left prior to police arriving. We would urge them to contact us as they may have important information relating to the incident.
