A Harrogate man has been accused of fraud.
Bernard Holliday, of Wayside Crescent, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court on Friday (May 30) charged with one count of fraud by abuse of position.
He spoke only to confirm his name and address.
Mr Holliday is alleged to have committed fraud whilst occupying a position, namely power of attorney for his auntie who has subeqently died, in which he was expected to safeguard the financial interests of that person.
Court documents allege the 73-year-old dishonestly abused that position.
A plea has not yet been entered to the charge and the case was transferred to York Crown Court, where Mr Holliday will next appear on July 7.
