Fresh concerns have been raised over “dangerous access” to a planned housing scheme at Kingsley Farm in Harrogate.
Quarters Kingsley Ltd received outline planning permission to build up to 30 homes on the site of the former chicken farm in January 2023.
A reserved matters application for the houses, which was submitted in October last year, is currently being considered by North Yorkshire Council.
The proposal includes an access point from Kingsley Road and Hawthorn Place.
Harrogate Town Council submitted an objection to the plan in February, and this week raised fresh concern over a planned access route to the housing site.
At a planning committe meeting on Wednesday (March 18), town councillors said access onto Kingsley Road remained dangerous, particularly for refuse and construction traffic.

Cllr Graham Dixon, Liberal Democrat for Harlow ward, said the access point “was not acceptable” and was “unsafe”.
He said:
The fundamental fact is that the road is barely wide enough to allow for two cars to pass at best. It has not even got a dividing line down the centre.
I just don’t think anything has changed since we objected last time.
North Yorkshire Council’s highways department has not objected to the developer’s access plans.
However, Cllr Mark Warr, Liberal Democrat who represents Pannal ward, said it remained the case that the access road was dangerous for people.
He said:
Technically, highways might be happy because a wagon can swing round [into the site]. But it’s such a dangerous road when you have got kids, grandkids and prams going along there.
I think it’s an objection from a peoples point of view, I suppose, in terms of that road and access.
Harrogate Town Council objected to the plan over concerns about the planned access road into the site.
However, North Yorkshire Council, which is the planning authority, will have the final say.
