One of the region's largest property firms is moving out of its offices in Harrogate's estate agency quarter to larger premises following a period of growth.
Dacre, Son & Hartley has yet to sign a lease on new premises, but its current home, at 17 Albert Street, has been put on the market for £975,000.
In addition to the ground-floor commercial unit, the block also has first-floor office space, lower ground-floor accommodation, and two one-bedroom flats on the second floor.
The ground floor and office space are currently occupied by Dacres and its specialist commercial property and rural divisions, Dacres Commercial and Lister Haigh.
The property was only built around 20 years ago, and this is the first time it has ever been on the open market.
Chartered surveyor Hedley Steel, of Dacres Commercial, said:
This property will appeal to a wide range of growing businesses, including professional services firms and retailers, that aspire to own a building in the heart of Harrogate town centre.
Crucially, it offers a prominent shop front on a busy street as well as benefitting from additional high-quality office space, with the added benefit of strong residential rental income, so we’re anticipating good levels of interest.
Dacres has grown significantly in North Yorkshire in recent years and acquired rural property consultancy Lister Haigh early last year. As a result of this growth, the company's Harrogate team will be expanding into new office space in the town in the coming months, although exactly where has not yet been decided.
The company has offices in 17 locations across North and West Yorkshire, including Knaresborough, Pateley Bridge and Ripon.
Dacres', which was founded in Otley in 1820, has long had a presence in Harrogate. Before moving to its modern premises at 17 Albert Street, it was based for many years just over the road in the smaller offices of 24 Albert Street, an address currently occupied by fellow estate agent North Residential.
