An event focussing on how climate change affects peace is set to be held in Harrogate this month.
Called “Setting the Climate for Peace: How climate change impacts peace – and what we can do about it in Harrogate”, it will take place at Creative Harrogate on Victoria Avenue on September 16.
It will be led by Clive Wilson, chair of United Nations Association Harrogate and author of Leading Beyond Sustainability, and will include discussion on how people can be practical about reducing carbon emissions.
The talk is part of Harrogate Week of Peace, which will see a week of events held in the town which aim to promote peace.
A spokesperson for Zero Carbon Harrogate, which has organised the event at Creative Harrogate, said the aim is to leave people feeling “inspired, hopeful and empowered to make simple changes that contribute to a fairer, more peaceful world.”
The event is free entry and will be held from 6pm until 8pm.
