A Harrogate golfer won more than £200,000 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the weekend.
John Parry tied for third with South African golfer Richard Sterne, who both finished 13 under par, at Carnoustie in Scotland.
He also had his photograph taken with actor Michael Douglas, who took part in a pro-am event at the course.
Ryder Cup players Robert MacIntyre and Tyrrell Hatton finished first and second respectively.
MacIntyre, who became the first Scot to win the Dunhill Links in 20 years, admitted he’d spent the week gorging on takeaways following Europe’s Ryder Cup win.
Parry’s performance over the three-day tournament earned £200,956 and means he is now ranked 93 in the world.
It was his second biggest payday of 2025, behind the £217,000 for placing second in the Magical Kenya Open in February.
The 38-year-old, who plays on the DP World Tour, has earned €1,500,843.10 in prize money this year, his most fruitful year to date.
His fabulous year included hitting a hole-in-one and finishing joint 16th at The Open.
Parry is eighth behind Rory McIlroy in the Race to Dubai standings. The top 70 qualify for the DP World Tour Play-Offs in Abu Dhabi.
He will travel to Madrid on Wednesday (October 10) to compete in the Open de España in Madrid.
