A bar that has been at the heart of Harrogate nightlife for 20 years is to close.
Banyan Bar and Kitchen is part of the busy John Street hospitality scene.
It opened in 2006 and underwent a £400,000 refurbishment in 2016.
The Stray Ferret understand the venue will close on January 3, although no official announcement has been made yet.
Banyan is owned by Arc Inspirations, whose brands also include Manahatta and Box. The company was co-founded in 2000 by Martin Wolstencroft and Chris Ure, who remain listed as directors.
According to Arc Inspirations’ website, it has 17 venues in northern England, including other Banyans in Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle.
