A man has admitted a race-fuelled assault in Harrogate.
Reagan Nash, 27, appeared at York Magistrates Court on Monday (January 5) charged with one count of racially or religiously aggravated assault and one count of theft from a shop.
He pleaded guilty to both charges.
According to court documents, Nash stole cigarettes and tobacco from Asda on Harrogate’s Bower Road on August 20, 2024.
The value of the stolen goods is not known.
A few weeks later, on September 4, Nash assaulted a named man by beating him at an address on Bower Street.
The assault was racially aggravated, court documents add.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Nash, of Cliff Crescent in the Kippax area of Leeds, will return to York Magistrates Court for sentence on January 27.
