Two people were arrested following a disturbance at a social club in Harrogate at the weekend.
The Stray Ferret contacted North Yorkshire Police on Sunday (July 6) following reports of an incident at The Oatlands on Coronation Grove the previous night.
The force said in a statement today (July 9) officers were called to a disturbance in the area at around 9.20pm on Saturday.
It came after a man and a woman had been ejected from a bar for being abusive to customers and staff.
Police added the man, 56, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following reports of inappropriate behaviour towards women.
He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The woman, 49, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a member of staff and on suspicion of racially aggravated verbal abuse.
Today’s statement also said:
She was given a community resolution disposal for the racist abuse but remains under investigation in relation to the assault.
