A North Yorkshire Police officer will face a misconduct hearing next week after being accused of sexual harassment.
According to a notice of the hearing posted by the force, PS 921 Mark Grimes is alleged to have made sexualised remarks to an officer known only as officer A.
His behaviour amounted to sexual harassment, the notice says, adding:
The allegations also amount to a breach of the police’s professional standards relating to (a) authority, respect and courtesy; (b) discreditable conduct; (c) honesty and integrity, and (d) orders and instructions.
The allegations would be deemed gross misconduct if proven.
The public hearing will be held at the force’s Northallerton headquarters from July 14 to 16.
The Stray Ferret has asked North Yorkshire Police where in the county PS Grimes is based. We are awaiting a response.
