The body of an Easingwold man who went missing in November has been found on open land near the town, North Yorkshire Police has announced.
Robert Rees-Hughes, 35, was last seen on November 29 in Easingwold, but was reported missing and a search was mounted.
At the time, police believed he could be in the Easingwold or Harrogate area.
But in a statement issued today, North Yorkshire Police said:
We can now confirm that the body found on open land near Easingwold on Friday (17 April) has been formally identified as Robert Rees-Hughes.
Robert’s family have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal or provided information. Please now remove any photos or details of Robert that you previously shared.
In accordance with this request, the Stray Ferret has removed pictures of Mr Rees-Hughes from its website.
No further details have been disclosed regarding the circumstances of Mr Rees-Hughes' disappearance or death.
