The National Lottery is celebrating its annual Open Week from 7–14 March 2026, offering special deals and discounts at attractions across the UK—including several in the Harrogate district.
Here are which attractions are taking part:

RHS Harlow Carr
The Royal Horticultural Society’s RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate is offering entry for just £1 per person for up to four visitors who present a National Lottery ticket, scratchcard, or Instant Win game.
Spring has arrived early at the gardens, with vibrant blooms including daffodils, camellias, cyclamen, magnolias, and early blossom.

Nidderdale Museum
For a more indoor-focused experience, Nidderdale Museum offers 2-for-1 entry to National Lottery players on 14 March. The museum showcases life in the Yorkshire Dales through 13 themed exhibition rooms, free app-based audio tours, and a children’s treasure trail.
Children under 16 enter free, and one National Lottery ticket covers two adults. No booking is required, making it a perfect spontaneous day out—even if the weather isn’t ideal.

Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal are also joining the celebration, offering free entry to National Lottery players during open week. Visitors can explore hidden corners, untold stories, and behind-the-scenes experiences at this stunning World Heritage Site.
Simply present your National Lottery ticket or scratchcard at reception. Note that National Trust properties will not participate on Sunday 15 March (Mother’s Day), and offer availability may vary, so it’s worth checking details before travelling.

Washburn Heritage Centre tea room
The Washburn Heritage Centre is set to take part in National Lottery Open Week with a special offer for visitors to its popular tea room. The volunteer-run centre is offering National Lottery players a free homemade scone with butter and jam when they purchase a hot drink. The offer will be available from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 8 March and Sunday 15 March.
Alongside the tea room’s selection of homemade cakes, visitors can explore the centre’s permanent exhibition inside the church, as well as additional displays in the tea room highlighting the valley’s rich history.
Entry to the centre is free, with lottery players asked to bring proof of purchase to redeem the offer.
