The latest addition to Harrogate’s world food scene has been revealed.

Indian restaurant Abu’s, which opened its first site in Darlington in 2019, is opening a branch at 19 Cheltenham Crescent.

Owner Abu Raihan, who also manages front of house, told the Stray Ferret he wanted to open a local site as he has strong links to Harrogate.

He was born in the town, whilst his father Abdul, the head chef, opened AliShaan restaurant in 1987 at the very Cheltenham Crescent unit Abu's has taken over.

An opening date has not yet been confirmed, but Mr Raihan told the Stray Ferret the unit is to undergo a makeover before doors open.

Abu’s describes itself as a “blend of great food and family values to craft the ultimate dining experience”.

The Abu’s menu features some ‘old school favourite’ curries, including madras, korma, balti, jalfrezi, dopiaza and rogan josh.

It also serves a range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, biryanis and tandoori dishes.
