Woman’s clothing retailer, White Coco, is to open a new store in Harrogate.

The company already has three branches open in Oxford, Berkshire and in Chelsea, London.

White Coco sells collections of mid-priced women's clothes as well as candles  jewellery, scarves and bathrobes.

Laura Boddington, Harrogate store manager, said:

The shops down in London, Oxford, and Hungerford do lots of events, collaborations and pop-ups, so we’re definitely looking to emulate that up here as well.

Laura said that the owner, Sally Boddington, has been looking to expand for some time, and that ‘Harrogate has very much always been on the agenda.’

She said:

This is partially because in the London shop, and the others, lots of people come in from North Yorkshire and Harrogate and have been saying to please open there for ages.

We have a big online presence as well on White Coco, and so many of the orders are from Harrogate, so we know we have an existing customer base here.

She also believes there is a big market in Harrogate for a brand like White Coco, which has 'lovely clothes, a great price point, and something a little bit different,' saying:

I think Harrogate’s really missing that kind of a brand where you can have a lovely in-shop experience.

A lot of people that come into White Coco don’t necessarily just want to shop online; they want the in-shop experience and some style advice.

White Coco prides itself in being affordable.  Its new Autumn collection ranges from between £29-£159.

Laura said that the shop is still supposed to open on October 9, and that they will be open throughout the day with some evening events running from 5:30-7:30pm.

We’re going to look to have lots of events, so evening events, collaborations, book signings. We’re already looking at opportunities to do that and have a few things in the pipeline.

We will have all of our Autumn/Winter stock here, so expect some lovely knitwear, some lovely shirts coming in, trousers, jeans, cords.

She added that they already have a book signing in the works but can’t give away any further details at the moment.
