Firefighters were called this morning to a report of an oven fire at retail premises on Harrogate’s King’s Road this morning.
Two crews from Harrogate were summoned to the shop, which has not been named, at 5am.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident report said:
“The oven had been isolated and the fire was out on arrival of the crews. A full thermal scan was carried out using a thermal imaging camera and advice was given to the occupant.”
Earlier in the night, at 2.16am, firefighters from Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to a waste bin fire at a home on Forest Lane in Harrogate.
The incident report said:
“The fire was out before fire service arrival but crews used buckets of water to dampen down any small hotspots. Advice was given to the responsible person present.”
At 5.55pm last night, crews were Tadcaster and West Yorkshire were called to Wetherby Services where a vehicle was smoking. Firefighters hosed the engine to cool it down and liaised with highways staff to tow the vehicle to a safe location.
