Pannal Surgery is to close next year.
The surgery is part of the Leeds Road Practice, which also has surgeries on Leeds Road in Harrogate and Castle Street in Spofforth.
The practice texted patients today (December 16) to say it would shut for good on March 31.
It will become the second village practice near Harrogate to close in 18 months.
Moss Healthcare Harrogate closed its Killinghall surgery in October last year.
Today's text to Pannal patients said:
This decision has not been taken lightly. The Pannal building is about 90 years old and, despite recent improvements, is no longer suitable to provide modern healthcare in a safe and confidential environment. The site also experiences low patient usage, with most patients preferring to attend our main Leeds Road surgery.
Patients affected will remain with the Leeds Road practice.
Dispensary services will remain available at Leeds Road for patients who currently use Pannal.
All appointments, including nurse clinics, minor procedures, long-term condition reviews, and phlebotomy, will continue at Leeds Road.
Home visits for patients in the Pannal area will continue as usual.
The practice said that it will consult with patients in the coming weeks to answer questions about the transition.
It will also provide updates on its website and social media pages, and on notices at the surgery.
It said:
Our priority is to continue providing safe, high-quality care for all our patients, and we are confident that this change will allow us to focus resources more effectively at our main surgery.
You can contact the surgery at leedsroadpractice@nhs.net.
