Plans to create a new takeaway serving hatch at Bettys Harlow Carr have been submitted.
The application, lodged by Taylors of Harrogate, outlines plans for a new serving hatch at the site on the outskirts of Harrogate, as well as a new awning and the removal of an existing hedge to create the new hatch.
The serving hatch, which would be located near the front door of the Harlow Carr tea room, has been designed in keeping with the existing doors and windows and will be painted in the same shade of green as the current exterior.

According to the plans the new serving hatch, which will be covered by the awning to protect it from poor weather conditions, will allow customers to buy food and drinks ‘to-go’ without the need to enter the Bettys building.
“This will allow customers to be served more efficiently and prevent long queues within the café tea room”, they add.
North Yorkshire Council will issue a verdict on the plans at a later date.
