Police are appealing for witnesses after a pitbull dog bit a jogger on Wetherby Road, Harrogate.
According to a North Yorkshire Police statement tonight (April 20), the incident happened at about 9.30am on Monday, April 6.
The statement said:
A local resident was jogging along Wetherby Road when a medium sized brown dog, described as having a pit bull type face, suddenly emerged from a hedge and bit them on the left hip.
The dog was on a lead at the time and accompanied by a white female, believed to be around 50 years old, of slight build, with short blond hair. She was wearing jogging bottoms and a thin puffer jacket.
Officers appealed for the woman who was with the dog, and a member of the public who witnessed the incident, to come forward.
Any other witnesses are also urged to contact police by calling 121 and quoting incident reference 12260061221.
