Readers’ Letters is a free weekly column giving you the chance to have your say on issues affecting the Harrogate district. It is an opinion column and does not reflect the views of the Stray Ferret. Send your views to letters@thestrayferret.co.uk.
These comments were left on a recent article about council plans to introduce new restrictions on household waste recycling centres.
If the council want to save £405,000, stop paying six figure redundancy payouts.

It will, no doubt, lead to an increase in general household waste. A step backwards I feel. Not a great idea.

Ridiculous. Just what are we getting for our council tax? They are just making it more difficult for people to use. They haven’t explained how you can contact them on a weekend if someone does some clearing at home that wasn’t planned. Always the same excuse ‘to bring it in line with other places’. Disgusting.
