The following comments from Stray Ferret readers were left in response to a letter from Simon Ewing, which called on the council not to destroy Harrogate’s tempietto.
I agree but as the council know after my request two years ago, if they do not want the tempietto to be in Harrogate, we will gladly have it in Starbeck.
Andrew Hart
Agreed. Absolutely no need to destroy the temple that forms part of the architectural framework of the Victoria Centre.
George Austin
I agree, the tempietto together with the gardens, are enjoyed by many when it’s sunny. I really don’t see the point of replacing with with another bland open space. Madness.

Stray Ferret readers had their say on December’s Harrogate Christmas Fayre, The below comments were just some of the many in support of a letter from Barry Adams on his thoughts on the fayre.
I’ve only ever made two purchases from the Christmas market, one of food and one of goods. They were both utter rubbish. The idea of the large Christmas tree by the cenotaph is lovely.
Catherine Timmins
Agreed. It wasn't a market at all but a row of badly cooked food and expensive booze. Not a thing worth buying and it’s the same every year. If you can’t think of anything better, don’t bother, it’s tacky rubbish.
