Readers’ Letters is a free weekly column giving you the chance to have your say on issues affecting the Harrogate district. It is an opinion column and does not reflect the views of the Stray Ferret. Send your views to letters@thestrayferret.co.uk.

The Stray Ferret recently published residents’ opinions on whether more events should be held on the Stray. Love to Be’s Harrogate festival saw 6,000 people descend on the Oatlands Drive section of the Stray earlier this month. The below comments were left on the story.

Let’s not reduce a lovely outdoor space to a pile of mud. The Stray is the lungs of Harrogate - don't clog them up.

People will come to live here and enjoy the space it gives them. Space that everyone in Harrogate is free to use.

Gillian Knight

Please leave us alone. If you want the facilities of Leeds, go and live there.

There is a massive rush to change everything that used to make Harrogate a one-off place to live or visit.

Roderick White

This week, the Stray Ferret revealed well-known clothing retailer, Rhodes Wood, is relocating to a unit on Station Parade following a “100% increase in trade”. Below are some comments left on the story.

Great to see a traditional business thrive by embracing social media but remaining in the real world on the high street.

Tim Cameron-James

This is an inspiring story.

Sylvia Bowden

Let’s start a national ‘wear a suit day’. I have two beautiful Rhodes Wood suits from Jeremy that deserve to get out more!

Stephen Oliver
