A Ripon man admitted a spate of alcohol thefts at York Magistrates Court on Saturday (May 31).
Steven Bainbridge, of The Shepherdies in North Stainley, pleaded guilty to eight counts of theft from a shop.
According to court documents, Bainbridge stole cans of alcohol to an unknown value from Sainsbury’s Local on Cambridge Street in Harrogate on May 28.
He then entered Tesco Express on Harrogate’s Cambridge Road on four separate occasions on May 29, when he again stole alcohol.
The value of the stolen goods is not known.
Bainbridge returned to Sainsbury’s Local the following day, when he committed another two thefts. He stole alcohol on each occasion to an unknown value.
On the same day (May 30), he went to Tesco Express on Cambridge Road and stole cans of alcohol.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Bainbridge will be sentenced at York Magistrates Court on June 25.
The 36-year-old was banned from entering any Tesco or Sainsbury’s stores in Harrogate.
