An Italian restaurant with a rooftop terrace bar in Harrogate is to close — and be replaced by a steakhouse.
Piccolino opened in January 2022 on the site of the former Gino D’Acampo My Restaurant on Parliament Street.
But it has told customers looking to make bookings that it will close and be succeeded by a Tomahawk Steakhouse.
Its emailed reply said:
After many wonderful years serving the Harrogate community, the decision has been made to close our Piccolino restaurant as the property is being sold to new owners.
Our team will be working closely with the new restaurant, Tomahawk, as part of the transition.

No dates were given.
Tomahawk announced plans in 2022 to open on the site of the Bistrot Pierre on Cheltenham Parade, which was directly above Sukhothai but these plans never came to fruition.
Four years on, it looks like the steakhouse will finally arrive in Harrogate but on Parliament Street instead. Its website already says it will be ‘coming soon’ to Harrogate.
Tomahawk, which operates nine other restaurants, including a site in York, serves Himalayan dry-aged steaks. It currently advertises eight-ounce flat iron steaks for £27.95 and 10-ounce Wagyu sirloin steaks for £46.95.
Piccolino, which is owned by Individual Restaurants, lists 22 restaurant locations, including Harrogate, on its website. It sells pizza and pasta as well as a selection of meat and fish dishes.

It relaunched on Parliament Street under general manager Salvatore Cataldi, who has also worked at Grantley Hall, in April 2023 following a £30,000 refurbishment.
Piccolino reopened the ground floor bar, which had been turned into a deli during its time as a Gino D’Acampo restaurant, and played DJ sets.
The rooftop terrace catered for private dining room and was also hired for functions.
