Raworths is proud to support the Stray Ferret Christmas Appeal 2025 for the fantastic work of Henshaws. All money raised goes directly to this charity.

This year's Stray Ferret Christmas Appeal aims to raise £5,000 towards two new creative studios at Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough.

The centre, which provides creative opportunities and a welcoming space for adults with sight loss and other disabilities, is at capacity. It desperately needs to expand its workshops so that people on the waiting list can discover the life-enhancing joy of creativity.

Our appeal is being kindly sponsored by Raworths Solicitors in Harrogate, which means that all donations will go directly to the new art studios.

Please donate whatever you can, and read on to hear from Rachel Tunnicliffe, senior partner at Raworths, about why the company is delighted to support our appeal.

A message from our sponsor, Raworths

At Raworths, we believe that creativity and culture play a vital role in bringing people together. That’s why we’re extremely proud to be sponsoring this year’s Stray Ferret Christmas Appeal to raise much needed funds to create two new creative spaces at the Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough.

This wonderful charity based in the heart of our local community has been helping those living with sight loss and a range of disabilities for over 180 years. Their incredible arts and craft workshops help so many vulnerable people build their confidence, find connection and discover hidden talents to realise their full potential. It’s a community full of life and joy.

This is a cause close to our hearts. Having been the headline sponsor for the Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival since 2012, many of our team have personally experienced the joy that comes from connecting through a shared passion for the arts.

Part of a wonderful community

While for many, Christmas is a time to connect with friends and loved ones, it can also be extremely lonely for those who feel isolated. These much-needed new facilities will offer even more opportunities for people to unleash their creativity and be part of this wonderful, nurturing and inclusive community.

Being part of, and contributing to, our local community is important to us at Raworths. Our sponsorship of the Stray Ferret Christmas Appeal for Henshaws means that all donations so generously given will go directly to this fantastic charity.

We’re aware of the incredibly generous and philanthropic community we have here in Harrogate and surrounding area. Please click on the link below to donate, and thank you for helping local people living with sight loss and other disabilities to access more creative opportunities, not just at Christmas, but all year round.
