A Harrogate man has denied coercive or controlling behaviour.
William Jauncey, 45, appeared at York Crown Court this morning (March 23) when he denied one offence of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship and one offence of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Mr Jauncey is accused of repeatedly or continuously engaging in behaviour which was controlling or coercive towards a former partner.
Court documents allege Mr Jauncey monitored the named woman’s online presence, used violence and derogatory language towards her, and damaged her belongings.
This allegedly occurred over a six-and-a-half-year period.
Mr Jauncey, of Crossways Drive, is also accused of assaulting the woman, causing her actual bodily harm, in November 2023.
A trial date was set for September 17 this year.
