North Yorkshire Police has issued an urgent appeal for help locating a Harrogate man wanted in connection with a rape investigation.
The force said in a statement this evening (August 8) extensive searches were continuing to find Clifford Ian Church, 62.
He is believed to still be in the local area.
The statement said:
North Yorkshire Police are urgently appealing for sightings and information for a man wanted in connection with breaching his probation conditions and in connection with an ongoing rape investigation in Harrogate.
The incident was reported yesterday (Thursday 7 August) at 11.30am and the victim is a woman.
Clifford Ian Church, aged 62, from Harrogate, is still believed to be in the local area and extensive enquiries and searches are continuing.
However, he also has links to York, Leeds, Cleveland and Durham policing areas.
Church is believed to be carrying a rucksack, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black trainers.
Officers urged anyone who sees him, or has information about his whereabouts, to call 999 immediately.
