Harrogate Town has announced its eighth signing of the January transfer window on deadline day today (February 2).
Nineteen-year-old Tobias Brenan joins on loan from Wigan until the end of the season.
The central midfielder started his career at Oxford United before signing for the Latics in January last year. He signed a three-year professional contract with them in October.
Brenan made his professional debut for Wigan against Northampton on the opening day of the season, and has made a further nine appearances for his parent club.
He last featured against Cardiff at the beginning of January.
Harrogate boss Simon Weaver said:
We’re delighted to bring Toby in. He’s energetic, puts himself about and is up for the challenge here.
Brenan added:
I just want to get out and play games, there’s still a lot of games left this season and there’s no reason we can’t get out of the position we’re in so I’ll be doing all I can to help.
I’m ready to play, I feel fit, energetic and want to show what I’m about.
Brenan is available for Tuesday night’s fixture against Swindon, subject to FA and EFL approval.
