A road in Nun Munkton is set to be repaired as part of a £510,000 scheme.
North Yorkshire Council has revealed plans to carry out resurfacing work on Pool Lane in the village.
The move comes as part of the council’s highways capital programme, which has seen three new projects added to it at a cost of £1.2 million.
In a report before councillors on October 24, the council said the scheme in Nun Monkton was required due to “severe cracking that has formed in the carriageway”.
It added:
These roads are being managed locally to ensure highway safety until the proposed capital funded maintenance schemes can be delivered.
Further schemes have been added to the programme on the A65 in Gargrave and Menthorpe Lane in North Duffield.
However, the council warned that the addition of the projects to the highways capital “does not guarantee delivery in a specific year”.
The move comes as the council has allocated £66 million in maintenance funding for highways schemes over the next year.
Last year, several projects in Harrogate were included in a list of council highways capital projects — though no timeline was given on when they would be carried out.
A resurfacing and/or reconstruction (R&R) project on King’s Road, in Harrogate, was included on the list totalling £395,000.
Meanwhile, a R&R revamp of the A59 Skipton Road near Killinghall was also included at a cost of £315,000.
