A woman from Knaresborough has been awarded an MBE from Princess Anne for services to early years.
Angela Mountain, who is the founder and director of Sunshine Community Nursery, Little Rascals Private Day Nurseries and Giggles Day Nurseries, was named in the King’s Birthday Honours list in June last year.
Waterside resident Ms Mountain, travelled to Buckingham Palace to receive the accolade on Tuesday (January 13).
One of her grandchildren flew from Australia to join her at the palace for the occasion. Colleagues from Little Rascals also attended.
Ms Mountain said:
“The whole day was magical. I feel very honoured. Thank you to the incredible team, families and colleagues who have supported me throughout this journey. This recognition belongs to all of us who are passionate about giving children the very best start in life.”
