A father and son from the Harrogate district have been accused of intending to supply drugs.
Paul Nelson, 53, and Jake Nelson, 25, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court this afternoon (January 8), each charged with several offences.
Paul Nelson, who told the court he is of no fixed address, is accused of possessing cannabis; possession with intent to supply cocaine; acquire, use or possess criminal property and possession of a knife in a public place.
Jake Nelson, of Slingsby Close in Ferrensby, is charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and acquire, use or possess criminal property.
Both men are alleged to have jointly acquired, used or had in their possession criminal property – namely £21,000 in cash – at a storage unit in Harrogate between November 15 and 24, 2021.
Paul Nelson is alleged to have had cannabis in his possession, as well as a quantity of cocaine with the intent to supply it to others on November 24, 2021.
He is also charged with having a knife in his possession that day at an unspecified location in Harrogate.
At around the same time, Jake Nelson is alleged to have had a quantity of cannabis in his possession with the intent to supply it to others. The offence is said to have happened at an unspecified location in Knaresborough.
The case was immediately transferred to York Crown Court, where both defendants are expected to enter pleas on February 9.
