Dear Reader, this article is free to read. We publish about 100 articles a week all exclusively focused on local news. Please support independent local journalism by subscribing here. It costs as little as 14p a day.

Some of the best-known stars of rural-themed TV will be appearing at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate this summer.

Kelvin and Liz Fletcher of ITV’s Fletchers on the Farm will appear on the first day (Tuesday), Peter Wright of Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet will appear on the Wednesday, Jules Hudson of BBC’s Escape to the Country will appear on the Thursday, and Harriet Cowan, who featured in Amazon's Clarkson’s Farm, will appear on the Friday.

The Ariat GYS Stage is hosted by TV presenter Christine Talbot, with chat shows running twice a day at 12 noon and 3pm, followed by meet-and-greet sessions with the celebrities.

There will also be two fashion shows a day on the stage at 11am and 2pm, featuring Yorkshire and UK clothing and footwear brands.

This will be the first time former Emmerdale star Kelvin and wife Liz have featured on stage at the show, although the couple have visited and filmed there regularly for many years.

They said:

We are lifelong fans of the Great Yorkshire Show and can’t wait to return again this year. We are looking forward to taking to the Ariat GYS Stage for the first time to share our story of running a family farm as captured on TV.

Peter Wright, who has been visiting the show with wife Lin for well over 30 years, is back on stage by popular demand. His return will include an insight into his recent filming with The Yorkshire Vet in India.

He said:

The Great Yorkshire Show celebrates everything that the countryside has to offer from the very best livestock in the country, the best food and much, much more.

There is something for everyone, but don’t just take my word for it – come and join me and see for yourself at the 167th Great Yorkshire Show.

Jules Hudson will be on the stage for the first time, although he is a regular visitor to the show, having hosted Today at the Great Yorkshire Show for Channel 5 for many years. He said:

Having the chance to look back on a career immersed in rural affairs whilst in the heart of what must be the finest showground in the country is a huge treat, and one which I hope many will be able to come and share.

In my experience, a day at the Great Yorkshire Show is a day spent in the finest of company, catching up with old friends and making many new ones. I can’t wait!

Also on the stage for the first time is Harriet Cowan, who featured in Season 4 of Clarkson’s Farm. Harriet has a rapidly growing social media following as a farmer and community nurse from Derbyshire and is a strong advocate for mental health in farming.

She said:

The Great Yorkshire Show is always such a fun day out, and I'm so excited to be returning again this year!

Tickets are now on sale for the 167th Great Yorkshire Show, which will be held from Tuesday, July 14 to Friday 17.

The show, which is organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, sells out every year, with 140,000 visitors expected over four days. Tickets are available to purchase in advance only, with prices frozen from 2025.

Free shuttle buses are operated by the Harrogate Bus Company every day of the Great Yorkshire Show. The buses run every 10 minutes from Harrogate bus station to the showground’s White Gate, starting at 7.30am. The last bus departs the showground at 7pm.

Ticket information and booking details can be found on the Great Yorkshire Show website.
