Laurie Hayes, founder of Maslow Wellness Centre in Kirk Hammerton

A wellness and aesthetics clinic is opening near Knaresborough in the New Year.

Maslow Wellness Centre, which has taken over a unit at Home Farm in Kirk Hammerton, is the brainchild of Laurie Hayes, a registered mental health nurse and independent nurse prescriber.

Ms Hayes, who said she has 14 years’ experience in forensic mental health and brain injury care, also owns Epione Aesthetics on Harrogate’s Cheltenham Mount.

Speaking to the Stray Ferret, Ms Hayes said her background has been "fundamental in shaping our new wellness centre", where people can expect “evidence-based treatments, which are delivered with precision, discretion and care, within a calm and beautifully considered environment”.

The Kirk Hammerton site will offer a range of treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, laser skin treatments and aesthetics, as well as Reformer Pilates.

It will also offer a "radio frequency skin-tightening" treatment called Elixis Ultra 360.

Ms Hayes said:

I spend a significant amount of time talking with my patients — often more than the treatment itself. This connection is at the heart of what we do. Supporting someone on their wellness journey is a privilege, because true wellbeing extends far beyond appearance. It is about how a person feels, the confidence they gain and the sense of balance they experience both physically and mentally.

We very much look forward to welcoming clients into the clinic and creating a space that feels refined yet inviting. Alongside our treatments, we plan to host intimate workshops and educational events designed to inform, inspire and empower.

Maslow Wellness Centre is set to open in January and will operate between 8am and 6pm, six days a week.

Ms Hayes added:

Our vision is to cultivate a discreet, community-led atmosphere where guests can pause, connect, enjoy a coffee and unwind. Quality will always take precedence over quantity, particularly within our classes and experiences, ensuring a personalised and exceptional standard at every touchpoint.
