Take an ale tour of Knaresborough
The Harrogate and Ripon branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) heads to Knaresborough on Sunday for a brain-teasing tour of some of the town's finest pubs. Starting at the Cross Keys, participants of the Quiz and Treasure Hunt event will be solving clues, answering observation questions and sampling a few ales along the way.

Hunt for ghosts in Ripon
With a history dating back to the 1700s, the Workhouse in Ripon was the last resort for society's poor, homeless and destitute - making it the perfect location to seek out any troubled spirits that might still linger there.
Join the Haunting Nights Ghost Hunters to delve into the workhouse's intriguing history and investigate paranormal activity that is said to include disembodied voices, ghostly figures of playing children, and the sensation of unseen eyes watching from the darkness.

See a play that shocked audiences a century ago
Red Wall Community Theatre presents a comedy drama which outraged audiences when it was first staged in the early 1900s.
Hindle Wakes tells the story of Fanny Hawthorn, a weaver in the fictional Lancashire town of Hindle who has a fling with the mill owner's son. When their parents expect him to do the right thing and marry her, Fanny has other ideas. Written in 1910, the play's working class female protagonist stood alone in British drama until the late 1950s.
Showing in Harrogate and Ripon this weekend, the production follows last year's sell-out debut from the Yorkshire-based community theatre group which aims to bring new or lesser-known drama to a wider audience.

Watch vintage tractors journey through Ripon
The Brian Chester Tractor Road Run returns for its fourth year on Saturday.
Around 70 tractors will set off from Tate's Garden Centre to cover a 32-mile route around Ripon that takes in Kirkby Malzeard, Galphay, Sawley, Grantley, Laverton and Winksley.
Held in aid of the Sir Robert Ogden MacMillan Centre at Harrogate Hospital, the event is organised by the West Yorkshire group of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club (NVTEC).
April 12, starts 9am at Tate's Garden Centre, Larkhill Nurseries, Studley Rd, Ripon HG4 2QR.
