Pateley Bridge Dramatic Society continues to haunt the stage

Pateley Bridge Dramatic Society makes its return to the stage with The Weir, Conor McPherson’s spellbinding modern classic that weaves ghostly tales with profound human emotion, with the final performance this Friday night.

Set in a remote Irish pub where locals trade eerie tales to impress a newcomer from Dublin, the play gradually unravels into something deeper and more unsettling, as mystery and memory intertwine.

McPherson’s sharp, naturalistic dialogue and haunting themes promise an evening of suspenseful realism, brought to life with the society’s trademark energy and skill.

Tickets are £12, 7.30pm, until Friday 21 November. Pateley Bridge Playhouse, Church Street, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate, HG3 5LB.

Attend a murder mystery evening

Step back into 1926 for Murder by the Book, a literary-themed whodunit unfolding at Aldwark Manor Estate this Saturday.

With Agatha Christie mysteriously missing and would-be novelist Harriet Hathaway mistaken for the Queen of Crime herself, the evening spirals into intrigue when a real death appears to mirror the plot of her unfinished manuscript.

Guests are invited to piece together clues over a three-course dinner - summing up suspicions with starters, weighing motives over the main, and delivering final deductions after dessert - before the culprit is cornered over coffee.

£69 per person for the event and dinner or from £334 for two people sharing, including dinner, the immersive event and an overnight stay and breakfast. The event runs from 7pm, November 22, Aldwark Manor Estate, Aldwark, Alne, York YO61 1UF.

Watch a Tom Jones tribute

The Frazer Theatre in Knaresborough will host Tom As Usual, a Tom Jones tribute led by Robert T. Leonard and supported by a full live band.

His performance focuses on vocal power and stage presence, channelling Jones’s voice, charisma, and classic style with sincerity.

Frazer Theatre is run by the Knaresborough Players and provides the perfect setting to highlight the energy of Jones’s greatest hits.

Tickets are £20, doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm, November 22, The Frazer Theatre, Park Crest, High Street, Knaresborough, HG5 0EQ.
