A Ripon man has denied stalking a woman.
Jack Wrightson, of Bishopton Place, appeared at York Magistrates Court on Saturday (April 18) charged with one count of stalking without fear, alarm or distress, and one count of harassment – breach of restraining order on conviction.
He denied both offences.
The woman was named in court documents but we have chosen not to reveal her identity.
According to court records, Mr Wrightson is alleged to have pursued a course of conduct that amounted to stalking when he “on more than two occasions” contacted, messaged and turned up at the woman’s house.
This is said to have happened between March 7 and April 15 this year.
In addition, the 37-year-old also allegedly contacted the woman and visited her home without reasonable excuse on April 15, despite a restraining order prohibiting him from doing so.
He was made subject to the restraining order on June 12 last year at Harrogate Magistrates Court.
Mr Wrightson is next due to appear before York Magistrates Court on June 11.
